I know this is the time to make resolutions, and so over the next few days I will be sharing some #BodyPositive resolutions for you to consider. And this first one, I think, is the most important of them all. If we could imagine saying to a child all the things we say to our bodies we could be horrified. Lazy, stupid, ugly. And even more insidious than the words are the looks. The derision, the disgust. Pay attention to these moments. Notice how it makes you feel when you speak to yourself like that. And then make a choice to say something kind instead. Even if it feels fake at first, just find one kind thing to say.
Thank you strong legs that carry me throughout my life.
Thank you beating heart for pumping blood through my body.
Thank you lungs for this breath I am breathing.
You are so incredibly amazing, and there are so many things your body does every day for you. So send a little kindness its way.
