This is the last in my New Years Resolution collection. I hope you have enjoyed thinking about how we can love ourselves more this year!
Today is the perfect day for this message for me. I am fighting round 7 of the evil cold that never ends (what is it with the colds this year?) and my toddler woke me up in the middle of the night crying. So today I am going to take it easy. I will cut my to-do list in half, I will drink lots of tea and toss back some echinacea and oil of oregano.
I was thinking about how we ignore our bodies so often, and in such basic ways. How many times have you told yourself "I'll just finish working on this email, and then I will let myself pee" when your bladder feels like it is about to explode? No, just me?
I think these little moments add up over a lifetime. We forget how to tune in at all because we are so used to ignoring, or worse, actively working against our bodies needs. We're like toddlers yelling at our bodies "You're not the boss of me!" Well, actually...
So the next time you really have to pee, maybe just go pee. ok?
