the world is alive, hear it calling

living in this world as if it were home – Jodi Proznick
This line “Living in this world as if it were home” contains so much. It speaks to my personal search for belonging, and to our cultural struggle with that same issue. So much of our pain comes from this place of not feeling like we belong, feeling othered, feeling not good enough. And what would that feel like, to live in this world as if it were home? To know that we don’t have to, as Brene Brown says, “hustle for worthiness”? We are each born perfectly whole, and yet as we grow up, we forget. We take in lessons from our culture about our lack and believe them. But we are all born inherently worthy and whole.
